Where heaven and earth meet….

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Places.”

On mountain or beach, up high or down low, each place has its own personality, its own flavour, its own uniqueness, its own store of treasure to gift to the world…

So I can state a preference on a particular day due to my particular mood, but for me the really interesting stuff happens when I am planted, rooted, culturally embedded, stuck in the mess of it, and from there – up from the depths and resonating with the heavens – from there begins a song that connects and sustains…

There was a man Jacob who discovered something like this in the Old Testament. He used a rock for a pillow when the sun went down in the middle of nowhere, and he encountered a transcendent space: “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
